Diane Marie Klinefelter's Obituary
Mrs. Diane Marie Klinefelter, age 79, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Albany, New York on December 31, 1937 to George John and Katherine (Rueckert) Kaltenbach. Diane received a Bachelor’s in Education from Michigan State University and taught for several years at Whitehall Public Schools. She was a member of the American Association of University Women and a lifetime member of her MSU Sorority. Over the years Diane was actively involved in various community groups such as the Whitehall City Planning Commission, Diversity Group, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp International Program as well as numerous fundraisers, and White Lake area events. Diane was known for her friendly and outgoing personality, optimistic attitude and love of conversation. Whether with a lifetime friend or new acquaintance, Diane was warm and loving with unconditional kindness. Some of her greatest pleasures in life were spending time with her family and socializing with friends. Diane was always in search of a delicious dessert or a satisfying latte. Diane was preceded in death by two husbands, John Russell Klinefelter in 2005 and Kenneth Everett Berman in 2016; her parents; and one brother, Daniel Kaltenbach. She will be lovingly remembered by her family; three children, Tracy Lynn (Victor) Gomez, Paul Michael (Cindy) Klinefelter and Shelly Ann-Klinefelter (John) Wiewiora; six grandchildren, Kristina (Chris) Zepeda and their children, Aiden and Austin, Katherine Klinefelter, Stephanie (Joshua) Friend, Tyler Wiewiora, Evan Wiewiora and Haley Wiewiora; and Ken’s children, Cynthia Berman, David (Susan) Berman and their children, Hannah and Claire, and Leslie Berman. A CELEBRATION OF DIANE’S LIFE will be held from 12-3 PM Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Crosswinds on the Lake (302 S. Lake Street, Whitehall, MI 49461).
