Diane M. Romans' Obituary
Diane M. Romans, age 86, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 1, 1935 to Earl and Elsie (Norum) Valentine in Chicago, IL. She was a faithful servant of Our Lord and Savior and a life-long member of Crestwood United Methodist Church. In 1955, she married Stanley Romans in Bangor, MI. Together they cherished 60 years of marriage filled with many adventures and endless memories. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2015. She was a loving mother of four children and a devoted wife to her husband. She loved to read and enjoyed a good novel. Diane was also actively involved with her church and served various capacities. She also enjoyed participating in De Colores Retreats. Diane and Stan enjoyed trading Michigan winters for Texas sunshine and warmth; and traveled the world. She was a kind and friendly spirit who will be missed by many. She is survived by her four children, Melinda Moore, Gordon (Francesca) Romans, Bonny Wood and Karen (Rodney) Hyrns; 11 grandchildren, Katherine, Shaun, April, Jennifer, Chrissy, Tony, Elizabeth, Aimee, Joseph, Nathan and Nicholas; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger Valentine; and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and loving husband, Stanley Romans. A limited visitation of 25 people at a time will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2021 from 5-7:00PM at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A private family service will be held. Memorial Contributions in Diane’s honor can be made direct to Crestwood United Methodist Church.
