Diane E. Hallberg's Obituary
Mrs. Diane E. Hallberg, age 59, passed away at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence Friday afternoon, October 8, 2010, following a courageous 18 month long battle with ovarian cancer. Diane was born in Muskegon on January 5, 1951 to Thomas and Oma (Lawrence) Snow and was a 1969 graduate of Muskegon H.S. Diane went on to receive her Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Western Michigan University and later a Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Grand Valley State University. Prior to retiring in 2009, Diane was a school teacher in the Thornapple Kellogg School District for 30 ½ years. She was an avid snow skier and enjoyed, kayaking, surfing, scrapbooking, collecting antiques and sailing. She was a member of: Harbour Towne Yacht Club, Viking Linne Lodge #57 and the Michigan Education Association. She married Mr. James E. Hallberg in Muskegon on August 29, 1970 and he survives her along with their son, Jonathon Hallberg of Wayland, MI. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Douglas Snow in 1992. A celebration of Diane’s life will be held at: the Harbour Towne Yacht Club, 3429 Fulton St., 1:00 P.M., Saturday, October 16, 2010.
