Dianne E. Collier's Obituary
Dianne Elaine Collier, age 86, passed away Tuesday morning, March 1, 2016. She was born April 17, 1929 to William and Gertrude (Van Domelen) Hislop in Muskegon, Michigan. Dianne graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1947, the same year she married James Wigham Collier on July 12 and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1989. They had five children; Craig, Kevin, Kim, Christopher and James. She and her husband resided in Roosevelt Park in Muskegon for many years and owned a cottage at Silver Lake in Mears, Michigan. She and her husband took permanent residence at Silver Lake, making it their home after his retirement in 1989. James and Dianne Collier were once Members of the Temple Methodist Church of Muskegon. Dianne enjoyed many friendships during her lifetime, and was close to many who for decades enjoyed their summer vacations at her rental cottage on Silver Lake. She delighted in planting and working her many flower gardens, as well as being the caretaker and owner of numerous cats, and also enjoyed watching bald eagles fly over Silver Lake. SURVIVORS include 5 children: Craig Collier of Traverse City, MI, Kevin (Kristen) Collier of Grand Haven and their son: Jarod Collier, Kim Rosema of North Muskegon, Christopher (fiancée, Maria Rada of Lucban, Philippines) Collier of Grand Rapids and his daughters: Corina and Paige Collier of Shelby, MI, James Collier of Mears, MI, and her niece: Charon Kleinheksel and her daughter: Kristin Kleinheksel both of Muskegon. Dianne was also preceded in death by her sister: Jean Coston and her husband, Fred Coston, and a nephew: David Coston. SERVICES for Dianne will be held 1:00 PM Friday, March 4, 2016 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565, with Rev. Michael Goers officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 6-8 PM Thursday, March 3, 2016 and also one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will take place in Mona View Cemetery.
