Dionne D. Johnson's Obituary
Dionne Delynne Johnson was born February 29, 1968 in Grand Rapids, Michigan; Beloved daughter of Shirlee Harry and Donald Johnson. She graduated from Kent Occupational High School in 1986. As a resident of Grand Rapids, MI she worked in several different places in the food service and hospitality industry until she was no longer able. She departed this life February 26, 2023, surrounded by her mom and her daughters.
DeeDee, as we know and call her, accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan. DeeDee loved to dress and look nice. Raven made sure she had all the trending hairstyles. DeeDee loved being around her family and her grandchildren. We all remember her beautiful smile and laughter at all our fun family gatherings.
DeeDee leaves to cherish her memory: Mother: Shirlee (Calvin) Harry, Daughters: Ciara Sanders, Raven Sanders, Trineesia Sanders, Grandchildren: Christian Sanders, Micah McDonald, Madison Sanders and Mason Lambert of Grand Rapids, MI. Siblings: Stephanie (Michael) Brown, Traci Johnson, of Grand Rapids, MI, Van (Pamela) Pollard of Flint, MI, Micherrie Johnson, Arrieal Johnson of Grand Rapids, MI and a host of nieces and nephews who loved her too. DeeDee was preceded in death by her father Donald Lewis Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 25 at 1:00PM at Brown's Funeral Home, 627 Jefferson Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 - 1:00PM. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
