Dion Patrick Munson's Obituary
Mr. Dion Patrick Munson, age 48, passed away at Mercy Hospital Friday morning following a courageous battle with cancer. Dion was born in Shelby, MI on October 26, 1959. He entered the military on December 29, 1976 and served in the U.S. Army until January 19, 1979. Tragically, Dion suffered a severe brain hemorrhage in 1986. Dubbed the miracle man by the Muskegon Chronicle, Dion would often share his brush with death, proclaiming his survival “only by the grace of God”. He was a member of the Lakeside Eagles and was regular volunteer at their bingo games until poor health forced his retirement. He is survived by his children: Aaron (Shari) Munson of Windom, KS and Stephanie Munson of Muskegon; grandchildren, Aaron Jr. and Savannah Jane; mother, Rosemary (Don) Knak of Florence, KS; sisters, Darla Conklin and Dawna Mosher and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at: The Church of the Nazarene, 1620 Beechtree, Grand Haven, Friday, 2:00 P.M.
