Dixie Lee Ponder's Obituary
Mrs. Dixie Lee Ponder, age 68, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Advance, Missouri on May 25, 1953 to Arthur and Lois (Parsons) Rogers. Dixie was employed by Consumers Energy prior to her retirement in 2019. She enjoyed knitting, flowers, walks, and trips to visit different lighthouses. On February 22, 2008, Dixie married Daniel Ponder in Muskegon and he survives her along with two children, Tia (Tom) Halsted and Joseph (Jenifer) Barnella; stepchildren, Sara Ponder and Seth Ponder; seven grandchildren; brother, Dale Rogers; sisters, Denise (Robert) Hall and Cathy (Dean) Mapes; parents-in-law, Leonard and Anne Schwartz; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters-in-law, DeAnna Rogers and Christine Ponder; and brother-in-law, David Ponder. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with Dale Rogers (brother) officiating. MEMORIALS in memory of Dixie may be directed to the Noah Project Animal Rescue.
