Dolores "Dee" G. Daly's Obituary
Dolores “Dee” G. Daly, age 93, passed away on Sunday November 24, 2019. She was born on January 31, 1926 to Louis and Veronica “Frances” (Schroder) Kartes in Muskegon. Dolores worked her early years at Shaw Box Crane where she met James R. Daly and on October 18, 1947 they married and spent 60 years together until his passing in May of 2008. She loved spending time with her family, especially at parties. Dolores was an avid maker of arts and crafts; she loved crocheting, needlework and knitting. You could always find her down by the beach enjoying Lake Michigan or enjoying a piece of chocolate or ice cream. She devoted a lot of her time to volunteering at her church and local area hospitals. Dolores is survived by her children, Patrick Daly of Grand Rapids, Mike Daly of Muskegon, Tim (Paula) Daly of South Carolina, Terri (Jeff) Freyermuth of Arizona, Kathy Daly of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; siblings, Louise Murray, Louis Kartes, Joseph Kartes, Veronica Grimm, Evelyn DeWitt, Marcella Pouch; special friend, Gerald Frazine. VISITATION with Dolores’ family will take place on Friday, November 29, 2019 at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. Muskegon, MI 49441 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with a ROSARY SERVICE to be prayed at 4:30 PM. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 6th St.) at 11:00 AM with Fr. Charles Hall presiding. The family would like to express a special thank you to her extended family at Day Spring Assisted Living and the staff of Harbor Hospice.
