Dolores (Mittman) Kohley's Obituary
Dolores (Mittman) Kohley, age 88, passed away on Sunday, April 29, 2018. She was born on September 19, 1929 in Wheaton, IL to Frank and Anna (Gsell) Mittman. On November 27, 1948, she married Elmer C. Kohley in Wheaton, IL, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2014. Dolores is survived by her children, Barry (Marcia) Kohley of Hudsonville, MI, Joyce (Randy) Schau of Portage, MI, Lance Kohley, Alan (Deirdre) Kohley and Wayne (Nancy) Kohley all of Muskegon. She is also survived by grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Jill (David) Scheid, Brent (Jackie) Kohley, Chad (Emily) Kohley, Jessica (Peder) Groseth, Travis Schau, Bethany (Viet) Nguyen, Jason (Katy) Kohley, Christopher (Renee) Kohley, Alex Kohley, Sam Kohley, Zachary (Melanie) Kohley, Jordan (Lauren) Kohley, Leeah Kohley, Shannon (Lance) Reed, Ashley (Ryan) Strehl and Zac Tedrow. Dolores is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is survived by sisters, Mildred (Jim) Diehl of Elburn, IL, Mary Ann (Ed) Brummel of St. Charles, IL, Evelyn (Bob) Wrin of Washington, DC, and brothers, Richard (Gisela) Mittman of Blacksburg, VA and Jerome (Teresa) Mittman of Northville, MI. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a daughter-in-law, Sue Kohley. Dolores was a homemaker and part-time bookkeeper for Culligan Water Conditioning and Fruitport LP Gas before retiring in 1991. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Sacred Heart Altar Society. She enjoyed her friends at the “Breakfast Club”, the “Lady Cougars” and the “Happy Bar Flies.” Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM Friday, May 4, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (150 E. Summit) with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Thursday, May 3, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 where the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30pm. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the Mass on Friday at Sacred Heart.
