Babe was born in Muskegon Heights, MI to William and Esther Manchester on March 25, 1925. She was raised in the Heights where she met and later married Erwin (EB) Moon on January 25, 1947. In 1949, she gave birth to their only daughter, Kay Marie. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Babe loved to play Bingo and travel ANYWHERE! Her zest for life amazed her family and friends and was an inspiration to live life to its fullest. She will be forever remembered and loved by her daughter Kay (James) Kennedy of Twin Lake; grandchildren, Heath (Julie) Lynnes of North Muskegon, Candice (Scott) Slizewski of Fremont, and step grandsons, Kurt (LeeAnn) Moul of Cedar Springs and Tim Moul of Kalamazoo; great-grandchildren, Kendra, Ethan, Lily Hansen; Mackinzie Lynnes; Drake Roesler; Olivia and Gavin Moul; Brayden and Allison Moul. Babe will also be remembered fondly by nieces and nephews, Robin “Cubby” Speese, Floyd Ryan, Jim (Sue) Jones, Jennifer (David) Courterier, and Carolyn Policha along with numerous great- and great-great-nieces and nephews; all of the Kennedy Family in Illinois; her extended Ruppel Family and dear friends from Wisconsin; her special friend, Mary Karcis and travel friends from Antor Travel; her Bingo friends at Muskegon Lakeside Eagles, along with all of the American Red Cross workers she volunteered with at the Holton American Legion. EB and Babe were members of the Muskegon Heights Eagles, the Fremont Moose Lodge, and the Holton American Legion for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, EB in 1987; sisters, Thelma Ryan in 2008, Lolly Manchester in 1977; brother, Ken Morton in 1997; special sisters-in-law, Evelyn Jones in 2007 and Lois Policha in 1978; step-brother, Morley, and step-sisters, Valora, Bea, Donna, and Gerri. It was Babe’s wish not to have any funeral services. We all know how much Babe loved her birds. Anyone who wants to honor her are invited to hang a special bird feeder at their home in her memory or donate to the Leila and Cyrus Poppen Residence of Harbor Hospice.
