Dolores Ann Novotny's Obituary
Mrs. Dolores Ann Novotny, age 74, went to be with her Lord on Monday morning, August 18, 2014 at Hackley Hospital, following a brief illness. She was born April 3, 1940, in Muskegon, to Harold F. and Hazel F. (Allison) Sherriff Davis; and has been a life resident of the area. Dolores was an active member of Lake Harbor UMC where she has served on the funeral lunch committee for many years. She also was part of its Florence Circle, “Thinking of You”, Administrative Council and weekly Bible Studies. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Prior to her retirement Dolores was Secretary of J. Novotny Electronics, and also enjoyed gardening, traveling and attending classic car shows with her husband, Jerome. On July 16, 1960 she married Jerome Novotny and he survives her along with her two children, Denise (Christopher) Robbins of Roosevelt Park and Randall (Kristin) Novotny of Norton Shores; 5 grandchildren, Kaleigh Heger, Alex, Miles, Sam and Ben Novotny. She was preceded in death by her brother, Boyd Sherriff. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Lake Harbor United Methodist Church, 4861 Henry St., Norton Shores, MI 49441, with the Rev. Susan Hagans officiating. Burial of Dolores’ cremains will occur in Lake Harbor UMC Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Dolores’ family will be 6-8:00PM Tuesday (this evening) at The Lee chapel of Sytsema Funeral HOmes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100).
