Dolores Mae Stark's Obituary
Mrs. Dolores Mae “Dee” Stark, age 95, passed away at her home in Norton Shores, Michigan on Saturday, July 12, 2025. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on January 20, 1930 to Carl and Hazel (Flasher) Jenkins. Dolores married James R. Stark on August 2, 1947 and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his passing in 1999. Dee and James were blessed with nine children, and family was always Dee’s main priority. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and embroidery. Dolores also enjoyed playing cards and lunch dates with her friends, as well as trips to the casino. She is survived by six children, Sondra (Don) Brown, James (Susan) Stark III, David (Katie) Stark, Patricia “Pat” (Chris) Vulgaris, Marilyn (Ronald) Rymal, and Lori (Joseph) Robinson; daughter-in-law, Gwen Stark; 108 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren (with three more on the way!); and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Stark II; son, Thomas Stark; daughters, Carolyn Stark and Terrie Bird; her parents; two grandsons, Roger Bird and Thomas Stark II; one sister and two brothers. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Sullivan Township Cemetery.
