Dolores C. Stenseng's Obituary
Dolores C. Stenseng, age 94, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, March 31, 2012 following a long illness. She was born in Detroit, MI on January 10, 1918 to Jack and Iva (Fellows) Bettens. Her family moved to Fremont when Dolores was a child and she graduated from Fremont H.S. in 1936. Dolores married Albert B. Stenseng in Muskegon on June 24, 1939 and she has resided in Muskegon since. Mr. Stenseng preceded Dolores in death on March 7, 2010. Dolores was a former member of First Lutheran Church and was a charter member of St. Luke’s Lutheran where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church Altar Guild. Prior to her retirement in 1983, Mrs. Stenseng was employed at Wesley Intermediate School as a teachers-aide for the mentally impaired. She is survived by her: three daughters, Jeanine (Tom) Ober of N. Muskegon, Sharon (Bill) Johnson of Ferrysburg and Melanie (Dave) Wilson of Norton Shores; two grandchildren, Tyson (Lisa) Schubert and Angela (Mike) Vanderstelt; and great-granddaughter, Madeline Schubert. The funeral service will be held at: St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 1655 Norton Ave., tomorrow, 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, Rev. Julie Winklepleck officiating. Visitation: one hour prior. Interment: Norton Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Lakeshore Lung Program.
