Dolores Alice Sweeney's Obituary
Mrs. Dolores Alice Sweeney, age 100, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Grand Haven. She was born in Boston, Michigan on July 30, 1915 to Homer and Alice (Matthews) Lanctot. Dolores married William S. Sweeney on October 26, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. They raised their family in Detroit before moving to Grand Haven, a long-time family vacation destination, in 1975. Dolores was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She was a talented artist and enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She is survived by two sons, Michael Sweeney of Grand Haven and Neal Sweeney of Grand Blanc; five grandchildren, Colleen (Scott) Huber, Kathleen Durand, Michael (Kristin) Tompos, Megan (Mark) Uberti and Kaitlin Sweeney; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Gerald Sweeney; daughter-in-law, Joanne Sweeney; one great-grandson; her parents; two sisters, Lucille Kutschman and Kathleen DeBeliso and two brothers, Homer Lanctot and Robert Lanctot. SERVICES will be 2:00 PM Saturday, April 30, 2016 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Fr. Norman Droski presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
