Dolores A. VanRiper's Obituary
Dolores A. VanRiper age 85, of Muskegon passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at Trinity Health Hospital in Muskegon. She was born July 4, 1937, in Lansing, MI to Ernest and Mary (Porenta) Knudson, she married Ralph William VanRiper on June 18, 1978.
Dolores graduated from Shelby High School and then Muskegon Business College. She worked for the Muskegon Chronicle in the accounting, payroll, and insurance departments until she retired in 2000. Dolores enjoyed singing in the choir at McGraft Memorial Congregational Church and was a Red Hat Society member. She loved traveling, especially the many trips to Branson, Missouri. Her other interests were listening to gospel music by the Gaithers, Alan Jackson and Ivan Parker.
She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Ralph VanRiper; daughter, Monica Felan; stepchildren, Tom (Janis) VanRiper, Jill Anderson and Amy (Dave) Jacobs; eight step-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren; and her sister, Peggy Writtenberry.
