Dolores R. Veihl's Obituary
Dolores R. Veihl, age 79, passed away Thursday, January 3, 2019. She was born March 8, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Peter J. and Anna L. (LaBarr) Schmidt and lived in the Muskegon area since 1951. On August 31, 1968, she married Russell W. Veihl at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Muskegon and he survives her. Dolores worked as a secretary for the military division of Brunswick Corp. and later worked 13 years as the secretary at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. She retired in December 1999. She was a former member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Dolores enjoyed being on her computer, ceramics, bowling and baseball. SURVIVORS include her husband, Russell Veihl of Muskegon; 1 daughter, Janna (Jeff) Kelly of Jacksonville, FL; and 2 sisters-in-law, Doreen Schmidt and Nancy Sprague. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, George Schmidt. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 PM Monday, January 7, 2019 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100 with the Rev. Fr. Melvin E. Fox presiding. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 1-2 PM Monday. ENTOMBMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Mausoleum.
