Dolores R. "Aunt Dode" Novak's Obituary
Ms. Dolores Ruth Novak, affectionately called “Aunt Dode”, passed away at home Thursday evening, July 16, 2009, at the age of 77. She was born February 26, 1932 in Muskegon to Edward E. and Stella (Rozycki) Novak and lived in the area all of her life. She worked for 22 years as a cashier for Zoromski Food Mart and later worked as a teller for Hackley Bank. Aunt Dode was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church where she served in the Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. Aunt Dode also enjoyed taking care of her loving family and making sure her nieces and nephews were always well-fed. SURVIVORS include her brother, Edward Nowak; her sister, Rose Mary Klemp; her beloved nieces and nephews, Marty Klemp; Michael Nowak, and his children, Jessica, Laura and Alex; Marianne & Jim Clarke, and their daughter, Katie; Edward & Karen Nowak, and their sons, Brian and Greg; David & Lynn Klemp, and their daughters, Josie, Miranda and Gabriela; Daniel & Amy Klemp, and their children, Emily and Jake; Maria Poort, and her daughter, Alani; her aunt, Ella Carlson; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Novak, and her mother and step-father, Stella and Casmer Zoromski. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Brown as celebrant. INTERMENT will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be 4-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
