Mr. Don P. Ferguson's Obituary
Mr. Don P. Ferguson, age 80, passed away Saturday, April 1 in Spring Lake. Don was born to Malcolm and Georgiana (Hildebrand) Ferguson on December 10, 1936 in Grand Haven. A lifelong resident of the area, Don attended Grand Haven High School before graduating in 1955. On May 2, 1959, he married the former Joyce Lyttle at St. Mary’s in Spring Lake and they enjoyed 57 years together. Don worked as a sheet metal worker for Bastian-Blessing for 35 years and for 10 years at Haworth. He also proudly served in the Naval Reserves for 35 years as a cryptologic technician. Don was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake and stayed active in the community serving as a Cub Scout Master and Little League coach. Don enjoyed fishing, but most importantly spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Richard (Janice) Ferguson of Fruitport, Ron (Ann) Ferguson of Muskegon, Donald Ferguson of Spring Lake, Jodi Ferguson of Spring Lake, Tom (Michele) Ferguson of Norton Shores, and Tony (Jill) Ferguson of Nunica; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother Rod (Becky) Ferguson; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Timm Ferguson. A Memorial Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 11 from 2-4PM and 6-8 PM at The Spring Lake Chapel, 213 E Savidge St. Spring Lake (616)-842-6100.
