Dona Robinson's Obituary
Dona Robinson, age 100, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 16, 2024, in Muskegon, Michigan, surrounded by family.
Aldona Julia Krusinsky was born in Muskegon, Michigan on February 14, 1924, to William and Anna (Kissel) Krusinsky. She attended Muskegon High School and in 1942, met Jack Robinson of Ferrysburg at a Valentine’s Day dance, which was also Dona’s 18th birthday. They were married on February 15th, 1947, and were married for 72 years before Jack passed away May 20th, 2019. Throughout their marriage, Jack and Dona were active members of the community and enjoyed traveling, golf, and skiing, especially in Steamboat, Colorado.
Family always came first for Dona, who was an excellent cook and hosted family dinners every Sunday. She was a homemaker when her kids were young, as well as an avid gardener with beautiful roses in her front yard. Dona was a member of the Women’s Club at St Mary’s Church in Spring Lake, and a Brownie troop leader.
Dona is survived by her three children, Rix (Karen) Robinson, Patricia (Joseph) Burns and Jack (Linda) Robinson; six grandchildren, Keely Burns, Ryan (Jessica) Burns, Nathan (Marianna) Burns, Tim (Nicole) Burns, Corey (Bethany) Burns and Kara Robinson; six great-grandchildren: Kyra, Liam, Ava, Sloan, Chloe and Willa Burns; special nieces LeeAnn Grissom, Shelly Segall and nephew Nick Lennon, as well as several other nieces and nephews. Dona was preceded in death by her husband Jack; parents, William and Anna Krusinsky; brothers, Frances and Alphonse Krusinsky; and sister, Ann Lennon.
The family would like to thank the incredible staff at Chestnut Fields for the wonderful care they took of Dona over the past seven years. Dona made wonderful friends who added much joy to the last five years of her life. The staff of Gentiva Hospice were also particularly special to us. Krista, Lisa, and Ashlee were of great comfort to the family in recent weeks and took such good care of us as well as Dona. We cannot thank you enough for the love and care you extended Dona over the years.
A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (406 E. Savidge, Spring Lake, MI 49456) and VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to service.
