Mr. Donald J. Bowen's Obituary
Donald J. Bowen, age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at the Poppen Residence; 42 years to the day his daughter, Diane, passed. He was born on May 17, 1935 to Fred and Ila Bowen in Muskegon. On July 29, 1953 he married Josephine Pacillo and they spent 48 happy years together. Donald was owner of Town and Country Grocery from 1962 until his retirement in 1998. Along with running his grocery store Donald enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, harness horse racing but most of all he loved spending time with his children and his family. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Jeff) Brezinski, Michael (Debbie) Bowen, Donald (Jennifer) Bowen, Joni (Mark) Konkle; grandchildren, Dennis (Rebecca) DeCheney, Diane Crowell, Michael Bowen Jr., Alysia (Steven) Dietz, D.J. Bowen; 7 great grandchildren; sister, Pat Dancz; brother, John Bowen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Fred Bowen; daughter, Diane L. Bowen. A VISITATION will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from 2-4 and 5-8pm at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. (231-798-1100). A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (1716 6th St.). Burial will take place at a later date.
