My parents lived just a block down Henry St. from Don's barber shop, and Dad always went there for his haircuts even before Don took the shop over. As Dad's health failed, around 1986, and he could no longer go to see Don for a haircut, Don did something that probably most barbers wouldn't have done -- he stopped by the house on his way home from work to cut Dad's hair. Don was a nice and decent man and those who know him best are probably not surprised by this story. It meant so much to my folks and his kindness has never been forgotten. Dad passed away 25 years ago, and we still remember. Our deepest sympathy to all of Don's family.
