Mr. Donald "Don" L. Cook's Obituary
Donald “Don” L. Cook, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2016. He was born on September 6, 1936 to Marion and Mildred (Youker) Cook in Muskegon. Don served his country in the United States National Guard. He was a member of the Fruitport Lions, the Fruitport School Board and an active member of his church. His greatest joy in life was his family, spending time watching his children and grandchildren grow. Don is survived by wife of 54 years, Margaret Cook; children, Catherine Tousley, Douglas Cook, Dennis (Nancy) Cook, Carrie (Mike) Thompson; grandchildren, Michael, Allison, Jacob, Kyle, Tyler, Chloe, Elizabeth, Gracie, Eowyn; sisters, Shirley Kammers, Charlotte (Jack) Grevel; many close siblings-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patsy Wier. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Don will be held at United Methodist Church of the Dunes (717 Sheldon Rd, Grand Haven, MI) on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 11:30 AM. VISITATION with the family will take place an hour and a half prior to the services at church. Contributions in Don’s name can be made to United Methodist Church of the Dunes.
