Donald M. Farnquist's Obituary
Mr. Donald Farnquist, age 80, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 12, 2016. He was born in Muskegon, Michigan on October 14, 1936 to William and Dorothy (Manchesky) Farnquist and was a life-long resident of the Muskegon area. Don was a proud veteran of the United States Army and served from 1959-1962. He was also an active member of Trinity Baptist Church in Muskegon. He was employed by GTE for 30 years before his retirement in 1993. Don enjoyed fishing with his children in Brohman, Michigan, where they spent many weekends as a young family. He also enjoyed hunting, both in Michigan and out west, with family and friends. In his later years, spoiling his cat, Hayley, and feeding the birds, deer and wild turkeys on the family blueberry farm brought him happiness. Donald is survived by two children, Lori (Michael) Oosting and Donald Farnquist II (Peggy); four grandchildren, Devon, Alex, Taylor and Brendon; four brothers, Lyle Farnquist, Jack (Betty) Farnquist, William “Bill” (Jackie) Farnquist, twin brother, Ronald (Sue) Farnquist; and his former wife of 46 years, Mary Farnquist. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Russell Farnquist and infant sister, Shirley Farnquist. At Don’s request, cremation has taken place, a MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, December 5, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church ,4381 S. Sheridan Dr., with Pastor Scott Church officiating. MEMORIALS in Don’s memory can be made to Noah Project (5205 Airline Rd., Muskegon, Michigan 49444).
