Donald Lee Gleason's Obituary
Mr. Donald Lee Gleason, age 90, of Spring Lake passed away March 10, 2016 at Grand Pines Assisted Living Center in Grand Haven. He was born August 27, 1925 in Nunica to Sherman and Edna (Bond) Gleason.
Donald was a builder and contractor working with his brother, Bud Gleason. They were known for building quality homes. Donald loved his family and his farm in Fruitport, where he grew Christmas trees that he gave to the church for missions. He also loved working around the church. He sang in the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church choir for 62 years and was a lifetime active member. Don was always known for his wisdom and kindness.
On December 5, 1947, Don married Betty Callaway who survives him. He is lovingly remembered by his wife, and his four children: Donna (Patrick) Duff, Daniel (Daryl) Gleason, John (Renee’) Gleason, and Mark (Kim) Gleason and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Quin (Agnes) Gleason of Macomb, MI; sister, Lois (Ernie) Parker of Rockford, MI. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wilbur “Bud” Gleason, sisters, Marge Rush-Bennett and Vera Sherbondy.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Visitation will be 7-8 PM Monday, March 14, 2016 and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Spring Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of Donald may be given to Spring Lake Presbyterian Church or the Noah Animal Shelter (5205 Airline Rd. Muskegon, MI 49444).
