We will miss Don as a neighbor and friend. Thanks for the memories!

Don was one of the kindest, most patient and gentle souls I have ever met. His everlasting love for Mara, Jamie, Kelly and his four grandchildren (and even me) was obvious in everything he did. My kids loved him for his ability to be a kid again when he was with them, whether it be speaking in his Donald Duck voice or telling one of his famous corny jokes that he knew stood the best chance of a big laugh when delivered to children. I will feel very fortunate if someday my adult children adore me the way that Jamie and Kelly adored Don. He was always their Dad to be looked up to, but he was also their great friend that they knew they could always depend on, no matter what. And I have never seen a more dedicated husband than Don was to Mara. They were the classic team in everything they did.
He was a very special guy whom I will miss very much. I will always feel blessed that I was lucky enough to have Don Goetzinger as my father-in-law.

I’m so sorry to hear about Don’s passing. Although I hadn’t seen him in many years, I have fond memories of spending time with him and Mara. You’re in my thoughts.

I pray for your whole family, Mara. I remember Don being a helper at nursery school and thought he was wonderful. I had never seen a dad a nursery school back in the day. He made a big impression on me.
