Donald E. "Don" Haas' Obituary
Donald E. Haas, age, 86, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2020. He was born October 5, 1933 in Pittsburgh, PA, to Wilbur L. and Helen (Joyce) Haas and has lived in the area since 1969. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserves after 20 years of duty. He received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from Pennsylvania State University. On June 23, 1956, he married Louise Springer in Brownsville, PA, and she survives him. Don worked for the city of Muskegon and retired in 1996 after 14 years of service. Don was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was an enthusiastic Detroit Tigers fan. For the last few years, Don played piano on Saturdays at the Golden Token. Survivors include his wife, Louise S. Haas; 4 children, Sally L. (Warren Bowers) Haas of Menard, TX; Sharon A. (husband, Nick Faber) Haas of Minneapolis, MN; Edwin R. (Terri) Haas of Farmington, MI; Linda S. (Scott) Beringer of Grand Haven, MI; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca (Roy Rendon) Halley, Tiffany (Jason) Bickel, Lauren Haas, Jacob (fiancé, Nikki) Haas, Lindsay (fiancé, Alex) Haas, Tyler Beringer, Ella Beringer, ; 7 great-grandchildren, Cozette, Jaeger, Truely, Stori, Nova, Charlie, Lizzy; sister, Ruth A. Stuart of Owosso, MI, niece Kelly (Frank) Roberts and nephew Chris (Amy) Stuart. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Katherine Haas. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 15, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, 2577 Wickham Drive with Pastor James B. Rausch officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church.
