Mr. Donald G. Hyma's Obituary
Donald Glen Hyma, age 80, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 19, 2023. Don was born April 15, 1943, to Rhyne and Trena Hyma in Muskegon, Mich. Don married his wife of 51 years Linda Rae Wagenmaker on April 10, 1964 and she preceded him in death October 27, 2015. Don worked for over 30 years at Muskegon Piston Ring and remained active in his retirement working in maintenance at his church and Mercy Hospital. He will be remembered for his infectious joy and sense of humor. He will be missed by many SURVIVORS including daughter Lori Gunn, sons Michael (Whitney) Hyma and Kurt M. Hyma; grandchildren Jordan Gunn, Bethani R. Gunn, Lindsay (Alex) Kirksey, Joel C. Gunn, Tyler (Carli) Hyma, Austin Hyma, Travis (Abby) Hyma, and Eryn Hyma; great-grandchildren June, Lucille, Jesse and Eli; brother Bill (Jean) Hyma, sisters Lois (Lee) Verhoevan and Joyce Frens; and many nieces and nephews. A service to remember and celebrate Don’s life will be held Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Life Change Church, 3083 Whitehall Rd., Muskegon. The family will have a time of visitation following the service. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Contributions in memory of Mr. Don Hyma may be made to the Muskegon Rescue Mission. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442.
