Donald F. Klein's Obituary
Donald F. Klein, 98, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 19, 2022. He was born October 14, 1923, to John H. and Mary (Rebman) Klein in Grand Rapids and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Don was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. He graduated from Muskegon Business School and had been a purchasing agent for Cannon Muskegon before retiring in 1990. Don was a squad leader in WWII mostly in the Philippines. He married Barbara J. Smith on October 21, 1950, and she preceded him in death on June 27, 2000. Survivors include four children: Paul (Carol) Klein, Joan Klein, Ann (Ken) Knechtel, Dave (Jodi) Klein; grandchildren, Laura Klein, Alex Johnson, Spencer Klein, Annie Lillquist, Lia Klein, and great-grandchild Cora Johnson. He was predeceased by grandson Tom Lillquist. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass. Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family asks that people perform a random act of kindness in Don’s honor. Arrangements have been entrusted to The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441.
