Donald Gene Northuis, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 25, 2019. He was born in Holland, MI to Almer and Betty (DeFouw) Northuis on March 11, 1932 and married Eunice Schipper of Zeeland, MI on June 24, 1953. Don att Read Obituary
Very sorry to hear this sad news about Coach Northuis. My thoughts are with Mark, Dick, Jane and their families. I have many fond memories of running for GHHS, guided by Coach Northuis and our other great track and cross country coaches.
A wonderful man and coach, and super role model. Thought and prayers for Mr. Northuis and his family.
My sympathy and condolences to the Northuis Family. Don was wonderful man, who was one of our track and field coaches in high school. His son Mike was a teammate of mine, and had some fond memories Coach Northuis. He was a father figure to many of us on the team. Great character and role model, God Bless!

Dear Eunice,
Our Sympathy to you and your family on Don's death. I remember his joining us at Panera on Thursday. Coming in singing "Here we all are with bright shining faces etc." He always did have a great big smile on his face and it was a joy to have him join us. We were sorry to miss the visitation and Service. We were at our Grandson's wedding last night in Howell and spent the night there. Got home this afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers were with you especially this morning as we returned home.

I will always remember the years Don supported the kids in my basketball program. I don't think he ever missed a game home or away. No matter if it was in the classroom or on the court. you were there for your kids. You set a great example for me as a not only as a coach but as a father.
