Donald Ray O'Brien's Obituary
Donald Ray O’Brien age 82, of Fruitport, MI died Monday, January 7, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born on August 25, 1930 in Muskegon, MI to the late Montie and Dorthea (Bruckner) O’Brien. He served in the United States Army from 1951 to 53. He married Catherine “Kate (Simon) O’Brien on February 10, 1951 in Muskegon, MI she preceded him in death on May 22, 1999.
Donald is survived by: 3 Sons: Donald (Sheila) O’Brien, Steven (Sheri) O’Brien both of Muskegon and Mark O’Brien of Ravenna. 2 Daughters: Connie (Walter) Hitchcock of Lawton, Mi and Cynthia (Robert) Manie of Muskegon. 14 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild. 3 Brothers: Monte (Marilyn) O’Brien Jr. of Ravenna, Eugene (Velma) O’Brien of Oregon and Larry O’Brien of Muskegon. 1 Sister: Marilyn Shavalier of Muskegon. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Wife: Kate, 1 Daughter: Donna Jean O’Brien and 1 Brother: Raymond O’Brien.
Funeral Services for Donald R. O’Brien will be conducted on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 11:00am at the Throop Funeral Home in Ravenna. Burial will follow at St. Catherines Catholic Cemetery.
The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00pm to receive friends and again on Thursday 1 hour prior to the service.
