Dr. Donald E. Ott (Don), age 82, passed into the arms of his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Monday, September 12, 2022. He was born on June 28, 1940 in Muskegon, Michigan to Herbert and Minnie (Poe) Ott. Don married J Read Obituary
My heart goes out to you and your family. Don was certainly an icon at Crown Colony. Everyone new him if not by name but his always walking with that infamous cigar. I will definitely miss joining him on his walks with Keifer and engaging in always interesting conversations. He is now at peace and the rest of us our grieving his loss but remembering what a wonderful man he was. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family
Dear Joy and family,
I was saddened to read about Don's passing this morning in the GR Press. Don was special to me because my dad, Bernie Wrona held Don is high esteem, spoke of him as a colleague who blossomed into a personal friend. Dad had a picture of himself and Don- fishing in Canada, hanging on the wall of his office. The last time I saw Don was at dad's funeral in September 2009, it meant so much to me that he was there, although I was an emotional wreck that day. I envision Don and Dad meeting and embrassing each other, maybe doing some fishing again too. Don and you will rest in my thoughts and prayers.

Will always remember Uncle Don as being generous, kind, and ready with a joke.
We will never forget Don! What a marvelous, funny, generous, hospitable, encouraging, and energetic fellow! Cecil of course has many, many fond memories of Don on the golf course, one in particular where he kept adding rocks and golf balls to Pastor Ralph’s golf bag when he wasn’t looking, making his bag heavier and harder to navigate. Cecil finally felt sorry for Ralph when he started sweating and told him. Haha! (I’m sure Ralph later figured out a way to get even with Don.) Don was a prankster! But a lovable one. We first met Don and Joy back in the late 70s, early 80s. We have always loved spending time with them. They are quality people, and we will miss Don terribly, but we take great comfort in knowing we will all spend eternity together! God bless and comfort the precious Ott family. We love all of you. ❤️

Don was a very special guy! At his house in the 1950's is where I tasted pizza for the very first time. What a great cook he was even back then.
He surprised us all with a unexpected visit to Center Lake Bible Camp to see Joy, he couldn't stay long because his dad didn't even know he was gone with his car. What a guy!

We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Ott. Laurie is very dear to our family and we know how much she admired, treasured, and loved her wonderful father. His legacy will live through so many generations and his love will shine through his family for years to come. All our love and blessings to you all through this difficult time.
Don knew my wife before I knew him. He was her teacher at Muskegon High School in the mid 1960's. I first met Don when he was a co-owner of a business in Spring Lake, and later we both found that we needed some help to make our lives better, along with those of our families. While his life was cut short by the terrible accident, he would probably say it was a longer life than he had hoped for when a younger man. We were able to experience his caring, giving and mentoring approach to all people, and will miss his conversations greatly. We all expect to see each other again, in a joyful reunion. Don invited Linda and myself to vacation at his condo on Sanibel, which we did several times. He was always able to make our too short stays comfortable and relaxing. Thanks for the good memories Don.
