Donald Ruster's Obituary
Mr. Donald Ruster, age 87, of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 2, 1930 in Crockery Township to John and Ida (Singerling) Ruster. On September 14, 1950 he married Della J. Rosema and she preceded him in death on September 8, 2001.
Don was a member of All Shores Wesleyan Church. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Don’s Appliance Repair for over 40 years before retiring. Don loved being with his family and friends and spending time with all of them and their many activities. Don also enjoyed traveling. He will be greatly missed.
Don is survived by one daughter, Vicky (Bob) Tovey; two granddaughters, Lisa (David) Peterson, and Kimberly Tovey; one great-granddaughter, Kaylee Peterson. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Carol Ruster, Peg Rosema, and Pat Rosema; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie in 1991.
Funeral services with military honors will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, May 31, 2018 at The VanZantwick Chapel (620 Washington Ave.) with Rev. Ralph Baynum officiating.
