Donald Arthur Seales' Obituary
Donald Arthur Seales laid down his working tools and passed away in his home, with the comfort of his wife, Sue, on May 27, 2024. A life intentionally lived, Don, a.k.a Gpa, will live on in the laughter, life lessons, and active presence he had in the lives of his family, friends who were like family, and friends. Don is survived by his wife, Sue Seales, his daughters, Lesa Seales (Robert Davis) and Holly Wilson (Michael Weiler), his former wife and mother of his children, Cynthia Seales, and beloved grandkids who he shared many cherished memories with: Nick Seales, Alec Winter (Nicole), Jacob Wilson (Paige), Kaleb Winter, Sabrina Watson (Sterling), Justus Winter, Josie Winter (Joseph Krueger), Bradley Wilson, Elijah Wilson, and Laila Wilson. Don is preceded in death by his son and best friend, Bradley Arthur Seales (Colleen) and his siblings, Carston, Beverly, and Tootie.
Donald was a long-time member of the Manchester Masonic Lodge, having been elected Worshipful Master in 1979 and where he would also raise his son as a Mason. He would continue to hold multiple offices and receive numerous awards from all over Michigan. Don also took pride in his philanthropic efforts supporting the Medical Unit at the Shrine Circus for years and driving sick and injured children and their parents to Shriners Hospitals all over the country for urgent medical care. Additionally, Don was an active volunteer of the Bridgeton, North Carolina Rescue Squad where he served as a paramedic and first responder.
While his legacy could never be captured in such few words, Don made sure to live a life of love, immense laughter and storytelling, euchre with friends and family, community service, enjoying long rides on his Gold Wing, and pursuing a life that was meaningful to him. Don will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
