Donald Gerard "Donny" Slocum's Obituary
Mr. Donald Gerard Slocum, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 18, 2026 in Muskegon, Michigan. He was born in Muskegon on February 23, 1952 to Donald L. and Marcella G. (Mierle) Slocum. Donny was employed by GE Aviation (formerly Johnson Controls) for more than 35 years before retiring. He was a generous man with a kind heart, always willing to help others in times of need. Donny devoted many years to caring for his parents prior to their passing, a reflection of his deep sense of family and responsibility. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found great enjoyment in the outdoors. Donny was also a passionate history buff; he loved watching historical documentaries and sharing what he learned with friends and family. Donny was a longtime member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He is survived by his sister, Ann (Larry I.) Tilford; niece, Kristin (Brian) Dawson; nephews, Larry J. (Jennifer O’Neil) Tilford, Barry L. Tilford, David (Valbonia) Soli and Donald Soli; great niece, Elizabeth Ann Tilford; and three great nephews, Nolan Guy Tilford, Parker Dawson, and Bennett Dawson; many dear friends from school, work, and neighbors; and his faithful friend, Buster. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother-in-law, Verna Mae and David Soli. Cremation has taken place and a MEMORIAL SERVICE will be announced in the spring.
