Mr. Donald Peter "Don" Staffney's Obituary
Mr. Donald Peter “Don” Staffney, age 78, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012 at his home. He was born March 24, 1933 in Muskegon to Peter and Helen (Siuda) Staffney and lived in the area all of his life. He worked as a purchasing agent for S.D. Warren Paper Mill for 38 years and retired in 1991. On June 9, 1951, he married the former LouAnne Stenholm in Muskegon and she survives him. Don was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also an active member of the Elks in Florida. Along with his wife, LouAnne, he is also survived by 2 children, Vincent Staffney of Muskegon and Cathy (Gary) Barnes of Dallas, TX; 4 grandchildren, Tyler, Rylan, Cassie and Charis; 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Marie Greenwald and Doris (Dave) Covell of Muskegon. He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, John, Harry, Ted, Bud and Jerry; and 1 sister, Isabelle Stolt. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, March 19, 2012 in Marian Chapel at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Philip P. Salmonowicz as celebrant. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to Harbor Hospice. Arrangements handled by The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W.
