Donald Edward Stolberg's Obituary
Mr. Donald Edward Stolberg, age 76, passed away quietly in his home on Sunday, April 21, 2024 with his family by his side. He was born in Muskegon on September 29, 1947 to Carl O. and Jessie E. (Holmes) Stolberg. Don was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. On June 24, 1978, Don married the former Ines “Donna” Pearson in Muskegon and they enjoyed 27 years together. Don missed Donna deeply and visited her grave daily after her passing. Don was employed by Howmet Aerospace for 47 years prior to his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the VFW post #7729 and enjoyed playing golf. Don is survived by five children, Tammy (Charles) Stolberg-Smith, Donald Stolberg, Charlotte Martin, Roy (Angela) Clish, and Leona (Russell) Rorem; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Maginity, Janice Isreal, and Betty Hvizdos; and special friends/neighbors, Dave and Colleen Klinger and Alex Maginity. In addition to his wife, Donna, Don was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Jay Woodruff, Barbara Peters, and Carl Stolberg. According to his wishes, a private family graveside service will take place at Egelston Township Cemetery. A public CELEBRATION OF HIS LIFE will be held from 3-5 PM Monday, May 13, 2024 at the VFW Post #7729 (6285 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442) with military rites being performed at 4:00 PM.
