Donald Eugene "Jocko" Tenbrink's Obituary
Donald Eugene “Jocko” Tenbrink, age 79, of Grand Haven passed away Monday December 7, 2020, at North Ottawa Community Hospital from Covid-19. He was born June 28, 1941, in Grandville, MI to Gradus and Marian (Beebe) Tenbrink, and married Barbara Glockzin on December 30, 1992, in Grand Haven.
Don served his country in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He worked for Herman Miller for many years as a Hi-Lo Driver. He drove a stock car back in the 70’s and still enjoyed working on cars, and fishing and hunting. Don was a proud tribal member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi tribe.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Barb Tenbrink; three children: Paul (Kelly) Tenbrink, Shannon (John) Anderson and Jamie Fox; seven grandchildren: Eric Smith, Anthony Anderson, Courtney (Christopher) Leary, Christopher Blood, Laura Tenbrink, Ty Tenbrink and Samantha (Jack) Carmean; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Agnes Patterson and Sandy Ward; six brothers: Gradus (Carol) Tenbrink, Jr., Al Tenbrink, Terry (Jane) Tenbrink, Kevin Tenbrink, Jim (Cheryl) Tenbrink, Simon (Marylou) Tenbrink; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronnie Tenbrink; and his sister, Donna Tenbrink.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 24, 2021, with Chaplain Duane Smith officiating. Military honors will be accorded him by The Charles A. Conklin American Legion Post # 28 Honor Guard at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417.
