Donald E. Green's Obituary
Donald Eugene Green, age 73, of Muskegon, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday morning, July 25, 2009. Donald was born February 13, 1936 to George and Nancy (Ross) Green, of Muskegon. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1962 when he was Honorably Discharged. He worked for CWC for 17 years and then retired from the U.S. Post Office in 1991. Donald loved hunting, fishing, carpentry work and serving his Lord as chairman of the board and head usher at the East Muskegon Church of God, where he attended for 41 years and where he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Violet Stillson, of 47 years and his five children: Lester (Cassy) Palmer of Kelloge, ID, Tammy (Kenny) Hellman of Baker City ,OR, Donald (Debra) Green of Muskegon, MI, Rene (Tim) Calvert of Hamilton, MI and Ronda (Ron) Hunt of Muskegon; 22 grandchildren: Nick, Justin, Kyle, Darfham and Kaia Palmer, Christopher, Mike Cary, Melissa (Cody) Morris, Ricky Carey, Kenny Jr., Kasey, Sandie Jo Hellman, Donald III (Melissa), Kylienne, Erik and Karrissa Green, Breonna Ball, Autuma, Anthony, Jacob Calvert, Aaron Green and Amber Hunt. Three great-grandchildren, Gracie and Blake Morris and Araeella Calvert; three brothers, Charles (Doris) Green, Ronald Green and Jim (Laura) Green as well as many nieces, nephews and several adopted family members, Brandon, Bethany and Brice Kartes. He was preceded in death by is parents, George and Nancy Green, brother, Robert Green and granddaughter, Angel Green. The FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 3PM Monday, July 27, 2009 at the East Muskegon Church of God (3585 E. Laketon @ Milliron Rd.), with Pastor Steven Sower officiating.
