Donald E. Michell's Obituary
Mr. Donald E. “Don” Michell, age 89, passed away Monday July 11, 2011 in Grand Haven. He was born May 1, 1922 in Flint, MI to Frank and Maude (Robinson) Michell and resided in the area for over 60 years. Don was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and worked at Hackley Bank before retiring in 1978. He was a member of Fruitport Christian Reformed Church and volunteered many years at Hackley Hospital Cancer Center. Don enjoyed traveling and his Detroit sports teams. In 1955 he married the former Marian Smith, and she preceded him in death on December 4, 2010. SURVIVORS include sister-in-law, Barbara Deephouse, sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Arthur Geissinger, and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy Howell Garrison and Doris Howell, and sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Don Zant, Sr.. A private family service will be held for Mr. Michell, and burial will take place in Norton Cemetery.
