Donald F. Doctor's Obituary
Mr. Donald F. “Doc” Doctor, age 76, passed away Friday evening, April 25, 2008 at his home. He was born June 19, 1931 to Derk and Ila (Baker) Doctor in Muskegon, and was a life resident of this area. Don worked for GTE for 36 years before retiring in 1985, and then worked part time at Sears for 10 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He spent 22 years wintering in Texas, was a member of First Christian Church, coached Little League, soccer, and football, and was also a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader. Don was married to Phyllis Weaver and Farol Picard, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 13, 1985 he married Bernice “Fern” Dulyea/ Rollenhagen in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 2 children, Linda A. (Leo) Evans of Muskegon, Lawrence D. (Robyn) Doctor of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren; 4 step-children, Susan J. (David) Wright, Kathleen M. (Jeff) Joslyn, Gregg L. (Debra) Rollenhagen, Scott D. Rollenhagen, all of Twin Lake; 2 brothers, William R. (Donna) Doctor of N. Muskegon, James Doctor of Norton Shores. He was also preceded in death by his parents. Visitation with the family will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Tuesday at the First Christian Church, 2755 Holton Rd., with a memorial service following at 11:30 AM at the church.
