Donald J. Holtrop's Obituary
Donald Jay Holtrop, age 63, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Donny was born January 25, 1945 to Abel and Jean (Westmaas) Holtrop in Hastings, MI. He was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, and attended Sunday school at First Lutheran Church. He was also a frequent visitor to Ferry Memorial Church in Montague. He loved singing, music and being with his family. Donny attended Wesley Day Program through Community Mental Health. His survivors include 2 nieces, who were his guardians, Sharon Schutter of Montague and Karon (George) Hunt of Grand Haven; his brother, Dr. Hugh Robert (Nancy) Holtrop of Carmel Valley, CA; 2 sisters, Ellamae Albertie and Eunice “June” Medema both of Muskegon; several other nieces and nephews; and his family and staff at the Faith, Hope & Love Family Home where he lived for the past 24 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abel and Jean Holtrop; 1 sister, Margereite Dornbos; and 1 brother, Claus Holtrop. SERVICES will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 29, 2008 at
