Donald O. Runyan's Obituary
Donald O. Runyan, age 83 went to be with his beloved wife, Ann, of sixty-three years who passed away Feb. 7, 2006. He was born November 7, 1922 to Coral & Goldie Runyan. Mr. Runyan retired from Howmet in 1983, where he was employed for 28 years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Woods, where he volunteered for many years. He also was a volunteer for Hospice of Muskegon. He will always be remembered for his ability to fix anything with his sidekick, Tuff Tabor and Old Milwaukee. Don served in WWII in the South Pacific, where he received various decorations. He was a lifetime member of the White Lake V.F.W. Post 3256. Mr. Runyan is survived by two sons and one daughter. James L. (Marcia) Runyan of North Muskegon, Linda (Carl) Munson of Twin Lake, and David (Stella) Runyan of Whitehall. Seven grandchildren and 11 great grand-children. One sister, Pauline Wackernagel of Muskegon. Two sisters-in law, Margaret Ribesky of Whitehall and Vicky Swartz of Muskegon. One brother-in-law, Edward (Helenann) of Irvington, New York. Special friends, Marty & Wanda Shannon and family of Whitehall, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, and three brothers-in-law, Michael Ribesky, Ivan Swartz, and Clayton Wackernagel. The Prayer Ritual will be held Sunday, August 6, 2006 at St. James Catholic Church at 5:30 PM with visitation following from 6:00-8:00 PM. The FUNERAL MASS will be celebrated 10:00 AM Monday, August 7, 2006 at St. James Catholic Church (5179 Dowling St., Montague, MI) with the Rev. Fr. Chris Rouech presiding. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. MEMORIAL contributions may be directed to St. James Catholic School and Church fund.
