Donald R. Lee's Obituary
Donald Ray Lee, age 70, of Grand Haven, passed away September 7, 2011 at a local care facility. He was born September 7, 1941 in Detroit to Vester H. and Winnie (Medlin) Lee. He married the former Lynn Young on October 19, 1968 in Detroit.
Don was employed as a metallurgist at Borg Warner Inc. in Romulus, MI, where he retired and moved to Grand Haven. He had served his country in the U.S. Navy. Don attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church, enjoyed watching all sports, playing golf, and loved all of his animals. Don was a great husband & father and most of all loved being with his family. He will always be remembered laughing and smiling. He was a person of great integrity. He was admired and we can all learn from his life well-lived.
Don is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lynn; a daughter, Kristyn J. (Brian) Mulder of Grand Rapids; a son, Scott N. Lee of Ferndale; grandchildren, Lucas Lee Mulder and Madeline Frances Mulder; his mother-in-law, Frances Young of Ohio; sisters, Fay (James) Clark of Philadelphia, PA and Linda (David) Davis of Columbia, MO; brothers, Charles (Cathy) Lee of Taylor, MI and Jack (Marguerite) Lee of Newport, MI. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Tom Young, sister-in-law, Lisa (Ron) Schneider. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Vester & Winnie Lee; and a brother, Robert Lee.
The Funeral Mass for Don will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 17, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew officiating. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the service at church. Military rites will be provided under the auspices of American Legion Charles A. Conklin Post #28.
