Donald W. Bailey's Obituary
Mr. Donald William Bailey, age 61, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2005 at a local hospital. He was born February 18, 1944 in Muskegon to William and Ingebor (Jensen) Bailey and lived most of his life in the area. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1963-1969 and the U.S. Navy from 1977-1985. On July 14, 1984, he married the former Regina Hood and she preceded him in death on January 23, 1990. He worked as a machinist for Sealed Power Corp. for 7 years. He also worked in maintenance for the City of Philadelphia for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed reading about history, and building model ships. SURVIVORS include his brother, Wayne (Marita) Bailey of Muskegon; 3 nieces, Debbie (David) Buchan of Grand Rapids, Lynn (Raymond) Traverse of Johannesburg, South Africa, Lori (Sean) Wiltenburg of Muskegon; 2 children, Lisa and Bill Weinfurter both of the Upper Peninsula, MI; 2 grandchildren; his former spouse, Janet Weinfurter; his uncle, Arling (Evelyn) Jensen of Muskegon; and several step-siblings. He was preceded in death by his father, William Bailey in 1970, his mother, Ingebor Bailey-Webb in 2003, and his step-father, Roy Webb in 1988. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Pastor David Selleck officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with Mr. Bailey’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565.
