Donald W. Hawkins' Obituary
Mr. Donald W. Hawkins, age 71, passed away Thursday morning, December 16, 2010. He was born December 2, 1939 in Muskegon to Walter and Velma (Christiansen) Hawkins. Mr. Hawkins was a self-employed carpenter for many years before retiring in 2002. He enjoyed shooting pool with friends, hunting, and fishing. SURVIVORS include 3 children, Don (Wendy) Hawkins, Mark (Tammy) Hawkins, Tamara Hawkins-Sundquist; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-granddaughters; mother, Velma Pinney; brother, Pete (Marie) Hawkins; 2 sisters, Helen Richards, Jeanne Williams; many nieces and nephews; and his special sweetheart, Verna Tyler. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jodi Ann Luckett on April 20, 2007. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. (231) 759-8565 with Rev. Gerald Hagans officiating. VISITATION with his family will be from 6-8 PM Monday. Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery.
