Donna J. Bishop's Obituary
Mrs. Donna J. Bishop, 91, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017, in Muskegon. She was born June 27, 1926 to Fred and Winnie (DeVos) VanDuinen in Rothbury, MI, and moved to Muskegon in 1943. Donna had worked as a Food Service Manager for the Muskegon Public Schools, before retiring in 1989. She was a longtime member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday School, attended Lydia Guild and the Mary Martha Society. On March 31, 1948 she married Willard F. Bishop, and he preceded her in death on October 22, 2008. Survivors include 1 brother, Wayne (Yvonne) VanDuinen; her longtime friend, Denise Kittredge; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, James C. Bishop; 2 brothers, Edwin and LeRoy VanDuinen; 1 sister, Eileen Chamberlin. The Funeral Service for Donna will be held Thursday, December 21, at 11:00 AM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, with Rev. Benjamin Oliveira officiating. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
