Donna J. (Castonia) Schwarzenberg's Obituary
Mrs. Donna J. (Castonia) Schwarzenberg, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. She was born on April 6, 1934 to Warren and Jessie (Marshall) Castonia in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Donna married Paul F. Schwarzenberg on January 9, 1954. The two were blessed with 62 years of marriage before he passed away on November 11, 2016. Donna worked for Queen’s Ways to Fashion for 25 years selling women’s clothing. She then sold Park Lane jewelry before ending her working career at Sears until her very well-deserved retirement. Donna enjoyed shopping, crafting, and taking camping trips. She was huge baseball fan, always cheering on the Detroit Tigers and used to run the concession stands at Reese Field. Most of all, Donna loved her family. She cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and loved getting the family together for special occasions, holidays or just to simply be together. Donna will be remembered by her daughters, Denise Byrnes and Lori (Russ) Schuitema; four grandchildren, Brandi (Sam) Fattore, Derrick (Natasha) Keur, Reed (Brenna) Schuitema, and Lindsay (Jordan) Mattfolk; seven great-grandchildren; and brother-in-law, Harry Tiemann. Along with her husband, Paul; Donna was also preceded in death by her son, Paul W.; sister, Delores (Castonia) Harris; and parents. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00PM, Wednesday, April 5 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
