Donna M. Ladd's Obituary
Donna M. Ladd, age 82, passed away Tuesday morning, August 28, 2018. She was born October 22, 1935 in Muskegon to Peter and Rosamond (Lessard) Faucher and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Donna graduated from St. Jean’s High School in 1953 and earned an Associate’s Degree of Secretarial Science from Baker College in 1990. Donna had been a secretary at Muskegon Catholic Central and Baker College, proprietor of Ladd Secretarial Services, and employed by the Lakeshore Museum Center and St. Joseph Credit Union. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church and the parish Ministry of Hope & Consolation, and a volunteer for many organizations over the years, most recently Harbor Hospice. On May 4, 1957, she married Michael B. Ladd in Muskegon. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2007. SURVIVORS include her six children: Geralyn Kroll of Muskegon, Anne (James) Frank of Muskegon, David (Kenda) Ladd of Fruitport, Mary (John) Cox of Lake Orion, Thomas (Jennifer) Ladd of Norton Shores, Lisa (Douglas) Zuidema of Norton Shores; 18 grandchildren: Krista Kroll, Alexandra (Thomas) Wyman, Grace and Jared Frank, Nicholas (Elizabeth) Ladd, Jenna Ladd, Katherine, Sarah, and Emily Cox, Jessica, Erin, Hannah, Carolyn, and Lindsay Ladd, Jack, Abigail, Elizabeth, and Camille Zuidema; foster daughter, Ellen (Lee) Pound of Leesburg, FL; very special sister-in-law, Lornella Faucher; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Donna was preceded in death in 2009 by her husband, Michael “Papa” Ladd; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne (Joseph) Friday; brother and sister-in-law, Richard (Barbara) Faucher; and brother, Thomas Faucher. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, September 1, 2018 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Michael Olson presiding. VISITATION with Donna’s family will be from 2-4 PM Friday, August 31, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with a Service of Remembrance held at 5:00 PM. VISITATION will again resume from 6-8 PM Friday evening. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the Mass. MEMORIAL GIFTS to the Michael and Donna Ladd Scholarship Fund at Muskegon County Catholic Education Fund or the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
