Donna Louise Little's Obituary
Please join us to celebrate the life of Donna Louise Little on Sunday, June 30th, 2024 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Victorian Gardens located at: 1299 Jefferson St. Muskegon, MI, 49444 (corner of Jefferson St. and Strong Ave.)
The moon was full and there was a super bright star directly over the Muskegon home where Donna Louise Little had resided for almost 50 years. She set off on a new journey enveloped by the well wishes of friends and family. Donna was born, January 28, 1927, in Muskegon to Oscar and Gladys (Rathbun) Little and resided on a farm near Walkerville until she was 14. She graduated from Muskegon High School, Hackley Hospital School of Nursing, Wayne State University College of Nursing, and the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She fell in love with Faye Redmond, they committed to each other in 1971 and were finally able to marry on November 1, 2015. She served as Director of Muskegon Visiting Nurses from 1974-1986. She also worked for Muskegon Community Mental Health, and Detroit Visiting Nurses, she visited all 50 States, almost all Canadian Provinces (except Labrador), Italy, Scotland, England, Germany, Switzerland, Costa Rica, China, The Rhine Valley, Barbados and islands of the Caribbean. She has maintained the family farm north of Walkerville. She is survived by her wife: Faye Redmond; brother Duane Paul Little; nephew: Michael (Kate Bell) Haskell; nieces: Amanda (Tim) Nealin, and Edie Haskell; great nephews: Robert and Joshua Nealin; great niece: Brittany (Tommy) Stevenson; great great-niece: Alice Rose; and cousins: Doris Anderson and Jerry Shunk. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Gladys Little and sister, Carolyn (Little) Haskell. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna’s name to Big Lake Humane Society or West Michigan Symphony.
