Donna M. Lundholm's Obituary
Donna Marie Lundholm passed away May 2, 2020 at Mercy Health Hackley Campus. She was born December 30, 1933 to John and Johanna Vanderstelt. She will be greatly missed by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Kenneth Wayne Lundholm and their three children, Timothy (Valerie) Lundholm, Thomas Lundholm and Lori (Dave) MacDonald. She felt truly blessed by her 4 grandchildren, Kailey Lundholm, Nicolas Lundholm, Michael MacDonald, and Thomas MacDonald. She is also survived by her brother, John (Joyce) Vanderstelt; sister, Joann (Tom) Fowlow; and many nieces and nephews. She was also deeply loved by her adopted family, Shelly Vallee-Roy, Matthew Vallee, and Mary Vallee. Donna never met a stranger, she treated everyone she met as a friend and even family resulting in many “adopted” kids over the years from all parts of the United States and Canada. Donna enjoyed being active and involved in her community. She was a member of the Republican Women’s group and a valued volunteer on many political campaigns. The one most dear to her was for the late Congressman Guy VanderJagt and his annual “Fry for Guy” Fundraiser. Donna was also a member of the Women’s Division of the Chamber of Commerce where she chaired the American Ideals Committee for more than 20 years. Her patriotism and love for her country made this a natural hit. She organized many luncheons to honor the new United States citizens. She had the idea and also the driving force behind the production of “The Celebration of America” a program focused on celebrating the county she believed is the greatest in the world, the United States. Following the tragic events of 9/11, she organized remembrance events to honor our local first responders: police, firefighters, EMS as well as all branches of U.S. military: Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard and Marines. Aside from her work in the community, Donna enjoyed hosting family gatherings, spending winters in Florida, and playing dominos and other games with her grandchildren. Donna was also an avid reader, hockey watcher, and supported the Detroit Tigers, win or lose. A Memorial Service will be once COVID-19 social-distancing restrictions allow. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to The Fisher House (https://engage.fisherhouse.org/site/Donation2?2262.donation=form1&df_id=2262&mfc_pref=T). Arrangements by The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. Please share a memory with the family online at www.sytsemafh.com.
